I am looking for input on how the new Raptor drives on the road. So basically I ordered a Tremor that never got scheduled to be built for 2021. A dealer near me has a Raptor incoming that they offered to me at MSRP. I am thinking about just going for it but my concern is I drive about 30,000 miles a year for work and I wonder what 30,000 miles a year in a Raptor feels like?? The 30,000 miles a year is 95% highway driving and that is the main reason I went for the Tremor. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.

I think you already answered your own question since you are here asking.
Ask yourself what truck, geared for the off-road, or geared for the highway is going to be better

Haha maybe you’re right but I really want that Raptor! I’ve always wanted a Raptor and since I can’t get the Tremor and the Raptor is right in front of me it makes me want to go for it. I’m thinking it’s a brand new truck with some changes to the suspension so it has to ride pretty good?? I’m not too old, at least I like to think I’m still relatively young, I’m in my 30s and it’s not like a need a Cadillac ride or anything I just don’t want it to be bouncing all over the road with a lot of road noise when I’m on a long trip. Set the cruise at 80 and drive 5 hours with little effort.

Not sure why you want to spend an extra 30K to go to the mall with. But I guess that's what 90% of the Raptor owners do with it anyways

I loaded up the Tremor so it’s actually only 7k more.

If I were you I would try to take a test ride in one, only then will you be able to tell if its worth it or not. Seems overbuilt for the purpose you need it for but life is short, if you like the raptor and can afford one then send it ?. Worst case you can always sell it in a heartbeat down the line and get into a Tremor if the Raptor is overkill for you.

The Raptor is a great highway vehicle because of how plush the ride is. You'll be more than comfortable cruising the Interstate in a Raptor. It has all the convenience features you'd find in any F150 which will make racking up the miles a breeze. The only issue will be gas mileage.

That is kind of my mindset at this point. I really didn't "need" a Tremor and I don't "need" a Raptor. I've always wanted a Raptor and as you said life is short. What the hell....full send on the Raptor!!

I'm really only concerned about the ride quality but sounds like I shouldn't be much concerned based on the responses. Gas is gas oh well, at least I'll have a badass truck! Although it looks like I'd be lucky to get 18 mpg on the highway?

30K miles a year you need a Fusion Hybrid LOL
Yea, but I won't look cool in that...lol. Plus I run this through my company so it doesn't feel as bad because the money doesn't come directly out of my pocket. Even though I realize it reduces my profits and does in fact come out of my pocket. It doesn't feel as bad when you expense everything and take advantage of the tax system by leasing company cars.

After driving a raptor for the last 4 years (18 and 21, 21 is an impressive improvement over gen 3), I will never buy a different truck. Hands down the best ride I’ve been in on and off road.
