Hi I have a complaint with the way the HVAC system operates in the newer fords (‘15-present) particularly the fresh air / recirculating air. My understanding is that its behavior is based on outside temperature, if it’s lower than 72* it defaults to fresh and although can be switched to recirculating, will only stay switched temporarily. My main beef, is that when in fresh the amount of airflow out the vents is affected greatly by outside wind speed, to the point that even on low it’s about the the same as the fan on 3-4 when in recirculating. Along with that it brings all the outside smells into the cabin as well, feedlots, smoke, town sewers, you name it. My question surely this can be remedied through FORScan, if not now hopefully in the future

It will also switch to recirculating air when you come to a stop in traffic to avoid pulling in outside odors. My last truck was well before 2015 doing the same thing.

Are you wanting it always recirculating air without getting fresh air in?

Disclaimer: I have not tried this as I'm happy with fresh air mostly ?. My best guess is that the Cabin Air Refresh strategy is governing how long on recirc before opening up to fresh air. See if yours is enabled and, after a backup or notes written to back out the change try disabling it:

Well I do recognize the benefits of fresh air and do use it in dusty conditions to keep the cabin pressurized, it’s just there are times that I don’t want it

Thanks for the nudge in that direction, I did explore the HVAC module yesterday but wasn’t sure where to head in at. But that makes sense.
