I have a 2023 Platinum with the controls that do not have the temperature readings or the heated steering wheel button, would anyone know if this would work on my truck, or if the heated steering wheel would work after installation or would it need some sort of “programming” or even if it would work at all?

I believe this would work. The programming can be done in Forscan and is as simple as saving your factory as built file for your current HVAC module and then loading it and writing it to the new one after it’s installed.
To be completely sure, @Jesse-Infotainment can you confirm if this HVAC module works in 2023 trucks? Does it require being PMI’d or is loading the factory as built sufficient? I know with the SCCM, once I applied my factory as built profile, all DTCs went away.
As for the heated steering wheel button, that would require a small change to an as built line after you apply your factory as built profile since your factory module doesn’t have that button. Likely just a single digit that needs to change.

You can use the same module. You will have a DTC if its never been in a truck before.
The software is different in different years. BUt it seems to not matter in the performance. BUt if you care about DTCs then youll want it flashed.

Would there be any benefit to someone with an XL installing one of these? I'm guessing more hardware would be required for things like dual zone to function, but honestly if just the auto function worked it would be something I'd consider doing the swap for.
It will work. As you said no Dual. Youll be missing the Solar sensor also. You can add it pretty easy.
