If you want them deployed, you can't use auto. Options are deployed, stowed, or auto.

But this is my issue I need to overcome. I select “out” and it resumes to auto above a certain speed.

It would be kinda slick if we could figure out a way to disable the 3mph auto retract.

However there might be a reason they shouldn’t be out while driving at speed, not sure.

Take your deployable running boards off your truck, send them to me. I'll take my fixed running boards off my truck and send them to you. Problem solved.

They are allowed to be deployed up to a speed of 15kph:
APIM

'You need FORScan of course. Certainly to deploy them at faster speed could invite damage.

Out will leave them out in park when you get out and lock it up. Power boards always retract once the vehicle is underway regardless of the setting

The goal is for them to stay deployed while it is parked without manually selecting "out" each time.

I can see the confusion in my original post.

What would the # be in place of the astericks?

Theo, you are now describing a situation closer to your original question. Either you select "out" each time, or you can adjust the auto timer.
The default standard timer is 25 seconds
The default extended timer is 300 seconds (5 minutes)
You can use the extended timer configured for over 18.2 hours by setting in the DSM:
744-31-01xxxx****xx--Extended_Stow_Delay_Time_Cfg (ESDTC) • Seconds = Hex2Dec(****)
The maximum value is FFFF. If you need them "out" for longer than that, you must use the "out" setting.

Wow, thank you so much. I’m very appreciative that you figured that out for me. 18.2 hours is sufficient. Thank you!

While you've solved my issue, I've now also discovered that locking the truck with the key fob still causes the running boards to automatically retract instead of staying extended. If you happen to have a solution, then that'd be amazing. Thanks in advance.

I came across an unconventional, though not perfect, solution. I had enabled the auto re-lock feature, and I noticed that when the vehicle re-locks, the truck locks (as expected), and the running boards remain deployed.
