Hey everyone!

New here! I've had just a few trucks in the past. Just picked up a slightly used 2023 F-150 PB. Got some random questions for you guys!
1) The center console (this new work surface) i have found that when i open the center console to get stuff, it wants to fall forward and shut. Is that normal? I have to use my arm/shoulder to keep it upright.
2) Transmission seems quite clunky. I have caught myself a couple times shifting from D to N to R without stopping completely and waiting like a second and yikes, it does not like that! Guess that's normal?
3) Is there not a way to disable this approach detect (running boards coming out) but keep the lighting to still come on when i approach?

Anyway, still browsing through the forums here.

Thanks!

Jeff

YES, unfortunately. There are springs inside that you can see that need to be shimmed with a nickel to prevent this, there are some threads on it

It's shift by wire for what it's worth, best to completely stop before reversing directions, no need to pause. I typically neutral to a stop then put into reverse w/ my back into spot at home.

Tons of customizations to do, you'll want an OBD2 cord and FORSCAN
Hello and welcome to the PB club. Answers above. You can forscan all sorts of customizations into the truck. Here's the thread -- it's a long one

Yes. My 21 Platinum PB is setup that way. As @HammaMan said Forscan to customize many things. What trim level do you have? Options? Those will determine what is already on the truck and can be customized. The favorites are on the common page of the Forscan spreadsheet following the link above.

I have used my PB to power the house and charge neighbors phones n tablets etc. several times since purschase. Welcome to the club.

Hey Jeff,
1) Theres a "nickel trick" you can search on youtube to add tension to the springs of the center console.
2) You may have to reset the transmission control module. The transmission learns the driver so if you arent the first driver resetting this will help it learn how you drive. Theres some youtube videos about it but dont know if those resets actually work.
3) Running boards approach detection can be changed in features. Featurs> Running Boards> Approach Detection. *Just tried this and it disables the lights :(

Hope this helps.
