Hello,

I bought a 2021 F-150. I noticed that it had all of the necessary hardware for BC. Installed all FDRS updates. However, the IPC module is throwing a GVMS warning. Upon looking into this further through the vehicle history in PTS, it appears that somewhere along the lines a dealer may have screwed up the IPC update. The truck was in the shop for 3 days in April 2022, and every time the dealer tried to run IPC module updates, the following error occurred:

Procedure unsuccessful - ReadFlashActionDIDsFromModule Update was not successful FAIL - F120 = ML3T-14C026-CDL>>> should = MU5T-10F906-FDA
PASS 188 - MU5T-10F906-FCA

Then it looks like the dealer just gave up.

Reviewing the connected vehicle history, the truck for years has thrown the U2100 codes for the IPC. I suspect this prevented it from ever getting OTA updates. And it is currently preventing me from completing all of the steps that I believe are necessary to active BC and finalize all the modules.

When I try to run PMI on the IPC module, FDRS throws the following error: Procedure Unsuccessful -Get Flash Action Part Numbers Unable to obtain Flash Action part numbers from Restore Topology.

Am I wrong to suspect that this is what's triggering the GVMS warning and locking out any IPC updates?

F188 appears to have updated correctly to MU5T10F906-FCA but F120 is misaligned with the old software (ML3T-14C026-CDL).

If I can't run PMI on the IPC module, how do I get the MU5T-10F906-FDA file and how do I flash that into F120? Right now, the IPC modules DID block isn't matching what Ford servers expect for my VIN.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We can side-load it with FORScan. I have the files. However, an IPC update via CAN will take every minute of 6 hours to do. FORScan will not create a USB update for the IPC.

As you can see, the dealer claimed to have performed FSA : 21G01, but screenshots from PTS show that the IPC module failed every time they tried it over the course of three days or so.

I assume this is why BC functionality will not work despite all of my other modules being up to date and passed through FDRS.

You are a lifesaver. But I will need walked through this. Especially since it's a long update. I thought IPMA and CMR were long! 6 hours is insane. But if it gets my truck working correctly, I'm willing to do it!

I’m far from an expert but the GVMS should have a link to submit on the IPC page to Ford and their engineers will review in 3-5 days and that could help clear up your conflict issue and perhaps allow you to then update the IPC in the future. I had that error on an ABS module on a different Ford vehicle and they cleared up the conflict after I reported it. Something to do with a mismatch in the As built data at least in my case. Yours sounds more complicated than mine so it may be beyond the simple fix I got done by submitting the link to Ford. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will update/clarify what I said about the GVMS.

For some reason, you have to have a dealer login to create the ticket. When I ask to create the ticket, I can’t login to page it directs me to with the same FDRS credentials.

I was able to create a GVMS ticket about 3 weeks ago, but that was two FDRS updates ago, so maybe it’s changed. I don’t know
