Had my first need for soft reset today.

I'd been out to the marina this morning and when I was done waxing my hull, I stopped to toss some stuff into the trash bin. I shut off the truck when I did. Hopped back in, started it and I had two screens overlayed. No way to close either. Once I got home I shut down the truck and unloaded the ladder and gear. Restarted and still messed up screen. Did the soft reset (holding down volume down button and the fast forwars/next track button for 10 seconds) and it fixed it. I guess it lost its mind. All good now.

You are lucky... I have been on 2 hour drives and had to do multiple soft resets because Sync and Carplay stop playing nicely. I'll be using Apple Maps or Waze and the Carplay connection just goes away. Doesn't matter if it's wireless or wired. It's very annoying and seems to have gotten worse on one of the later updates (2.8.x).

There is also the possibility that it's my phone...but I won't know for sure until I get a new one. (I am considering a Go-Fund-Me page for a new iPhone.) :-D

I have to do it at least once a week. Sometimes more.

I'm Android. Never had an issue with it. I had a settings screen on top of my main screen. I could switch from nav to Google maps and the settings stayed. Used the truck twice since. No more issues.
