GWM update has me stuck on Restart Required loop

any help would be greatly appreciated. I have started the update multiple times with USB. I have restarted after waiting 10 minutes before powering up Only for it to say restart required. I have attempted to do can update, but it fails instantly and when press retry it stays on initiating Comms.

I only recently downloaded it as this is my first time ever trying to update my modules so I don’t know how to use most of it.

I attempted to reset the GWM 5 minutes after reset showed up but that did not fix it. I seen you posted this quite a while back on someone having an APIM update issue.

@Jesse-Infotainment any ideas? Only have 1 more day on the FDRS license. I do get a “ unable to check battery SOC DID values message. Forgot to mention that.

Ok. Sorry so canbus no go and you tried the reset 5 min after.

What happened with the reset? Did it still show restart required

I had the usb with update. Closed FDRS and opened Forscan. Inserted USB proceeded with update until”Restart Required”. Turned truck off and opened door. Waited 5 minutes and then started GWM Reset. Proceeded until it told me to ignition on. Did that and it said process complete on forscan. SYNC showed Restart Required still.
Did not remove USB at all during any of this.

Dont need FDRS open

If you still have the USB

Open forscan.. Do the scan get to the GWM reset

Insert the usb

Once it finishes and say restart required


reset right then..Then turn truck off.

Do not n follow the Ignition off on prompts in forscan

It finally took!!!!! I was in process of redoing it the regular way. I did have the doors faked closed the whole time. So the whole process never had an “open door” until I got back in to crank it
