Hey all,
I found this gash on my roof right after I bought my truck (used)
I bought a full "kit" from Touchup Direct. It has the primer, base color, and clear coat. I dont care about the dent. Its not in site.
My concern is rusting. I know we have an aluminum cab, but it looks a little rusted.

Would just doing the touch up paint work, or should I have any concerns about rusting. The truck is near perfect except for this

On order ‘22 RCSB.
Get one of the paint touch up pens from the parts store that has a sanding stone on the end. Its a fine point deal. Clean up the scratches then prime and paint then clear.

body panels on the truck are aluminum, it's not going to rust. What you may have there that looks like rust is just dirt. Aluminum does not rust. I have an 15 year old aluminum trailer (not painted) and the old rust are the steel leaf springs and collar bolts.

Thanks for the peace of mind. I "knew" aluminum didnt rust, but the discoloration was giving me visions of a rusted through roof that would effectively ruin the truck. Leaking, weakening, etc
