I don't think so. Typically the railcar number has alpha letters at the beginning and six digits at the end. The next time you see a train, note the railcar numbers on the side.

Ford F-150 Freight ID rail

Mine was NOKL 798317

Interesting to note that the alpha does include the letter "O" which is different from some conventions that try to eliminate confusion between "O" and "zero"

The dealer can find out the railcar number by running a VVR.

Very rarely (like maybe 10%) Ford Chat personnel will supply a railcar number. That tells me that all of them have access to deeper information, but few will exhibit the curiosity to dig on your behalf. I'm sure that it grinds you down all day long, chatting with frustrated people wanting to know what their status is.

I asked Ford Customer Service for it yesterday and they couldn't offer it.

If you ask your dealer "where's my truck?" few will care enough to follow up and provide that information...but if you call and say, "could you please run a VVR and give me the railcar number so I can keep tabs on my truck shipment?" they will more than likely accommodate you. (but usually there's only "one guy" that knows how)

And like I said, the quality of information from Ford Chat depends on who gets your chat request and what their level of experience (and mood) is that day. But your dealer is your go-to right now for the railcar number.
