2021 F150 XLT
Hi,
This is my first post in this forum. I have a 2021 F150 XLT nearing 4-year lease end (first time F150 owner). I haven't had any problems with the truck since purchased new. The dealer is offering extended FordProtect warranty as I plan buy out the lease. I'm struggling to decide how to chose the right level of coverage. I'm not worried about minor stuff, but would like to get some protection for things like anything I hear like camphaser or transmission problems, etc. Any insight would be great!
Thanks

Compare the price with what you can get from Granger online. It's hard to beat Granger's pricing on Ford extended warranties. https://www.grangerfordextendedwarranty.com/
Thanks, I checked the Granger offering. The problem is I'm from Canada and given it's 2021, my truck needs an inspection. Not sure how that is going to work out in my case.

then you’ll have to buy it from a Canadian dealer! do not waste time on extra care. Premium care is the only way.. having been an F&I manager in the past, don’t take the first price they give you

I recently bought the premium care for my 2023. I toyed with going with the extra care instead because I bought an XL trim model and it doesn't have a lot of the bells and whistles that could fail but the difference was around $400 (US) and I figured one failure of the few things not covered by the extra care would cost much more than the additional cost

Ziegler Ford. PAYINFULL.

Get an inspection at any Ford dealership. Send the signed off contract to Ziegler. Now you can purchase a warranty.

That's what I did.

I asked the customer service if they'd accept inspection from a Canadian dealership, and they said no. Probably I'm out of luck here ...

Do the Premium, it's worth the extra parts covered for the money.

You could shop at other dealers nearby and see who offers you the best price. They have lots of wiggle room and still make money.

On my truck and an Escape I bought recently, I brought in the price printouts from some of the cheaper online US dealers that sell the warranty (Flood, Zeigler, etc) and the local dealership dropped their initial offers down to very much close enough to those prices that I bought mine locally instead. Keep in mind the dealer locally has to checkmark to delete some of the options like the lighting package and rental car options. Whereas the online ones you have to check to add those so make sure you’re comparing apples to apples on the prices.
