Can anyone please speak to the following?

I recently reached out to Granger to purchase a maintenance plan for my MY25 Plat PB. I was told that there is a stipulation that you have to schedule your service appointment within 100 miles before or after your selected service interval or your plan will become void. For example, if you opted for a 10yr maintenance plan with 5,000-mile intervals, then you need to be there at 4900-5100 on the odometer.

This seems insane to me and unfair for a lot of reasons. Granger says this is a Ford thing, not a dealership thing.

My hope is someone with experience can speak to their experiences with a Ford Protect Maintenance plan. Is this fine print stipulation a real thing? Has anyone had a plan voided? How close to your scheduled intervals did you get your services done?

Thank you in advance.

I am not sure if there is difference between Canada and USA … but I did some early and some late … that is crazy tight window… sometimes dealer can’t get you in for a week … are you suppose not drive cause you are going to go over a 50 miles on your oil change window …

I call bs on that

Hmmm, Granger has no reason to dis-incite purchase, but maybe there's a mis-communication

If indeed it's in the Ford contract terms it won't matter who you buy it from.

Do these maintenance contracts, like the ESP contracts, have a 30-day period during which they can be cancelled by the purchaser for a full refund (if no claims made) if you don't like the terms? That's your time to carefully read the contract terms and opt-out with no penalty if you don't like anything.

My Premium Maintenance is the 5,000-mile Severe Duty plan and just last month I took my truck in at 47,035 miles (due to travels). No one batted an eye or said boo.

I do wonder what will happen when I take it in at 50,000 next time.

Now I bought my PM Plan back in 2022 - things/contracts may have changed since then.

Those were my exact questions. A person could be on a road trip that is a 1000 miles long. It just seems ridiculous.

Thats not a bad thought. I'll have to look into their cancellation policy. I know you can cancel either a Maint plan or ESP anytime and you will get a prorated return. But maybe there is a window of time where a person would get 100% refunded.

Thats very valuable information. Thats exactly the type of reports I was hoping to get from some people. Thank you for sharing that.
