First time ordering a truck, help needed

Hi, I ordered a 2022 F150 on 12/22/21. I received an email from Ford confirming my order. Does Ford email you the other information such as vin number, scheduled build date, etc? I know it's going to take months to get the truck so I don't want to bother my dealer with these questions being that i just submitted my order.

Scott - it is hit or miss on ford corp sending you updates as the process moves along. However, the fact that you received an email on your order is a good thing. Next up should be assignment of your vin#. You can use your vin and dealer order # to track the order. There are a few threads here that will show you how to do this. You can jump into one of the many build date threads too and see how others are keeping an eye on orders. But expect a few months for build and transport.

I never received a single email. Once you get the VIN then you can track the process yourself. I bugged the dealer every 2 weeks until I got my VIN, which was only about 2 weeks after ordering.
