Even with navigation in my trucks I have preferred to use the Garmin 7xx RV and Truck GPS unit. I find it easier to monitor with it mounted to the windshield in the bottom left corner and I input the length of the RV or trailer in tow and the Garmin creates a route to accommodate my rig. It routes me so there are no U-turns or hard right turns or dead-ends.

At less than $500 it has been a good investment and I move it from one truck to the next one and use it on rental vehicles.

I also use the Garmin RV790 GPS. I compare it with Ford and google. Plus, I carry a road atlas.
Be sure to make sure the “use 4x4 roads” selection is turned off in the Ford Nav preferences.

I’ve heard good things about Garmin but after spending $600 for my motorcycle unit I just dread getting another one just for the RV.
