Adaptive braking is dangerous for those behind you, and ultimately you if they are too close. I no longer use it because of hard braking when unneeded. Running down the interstate at 80, pulling around to pass a semi, then adaptive braking engages is nuts. No telling what happens in the rain.

I stopped driving my truck all together because it's ALL too dangerous. I still use the truck, don't get me wrong. I pulled it with a tractor into the front yard where I have potted plants all over it. Pretty that way and no one dies.

And, this thread is really dedicated to a train hitting a semi according to the OP.
You know, Ford is like the rest of their brethren. They get too far ahead of themselves trying to provide something that is, quite simply, not ready for prime time. Further, it will likely never be ready for prime time. They all do it. They all do it at our expense. Much of the time it is dangerous and could impose serious injury not just to the driver and passengers, but some other poor slob who just happened to be behind when it happens.

Ford is no different from the rest of the manufacturers out there. And we are more than willing to tolerate that bad behavior, because we want a truck with bells and whistles. Just like the 2006 we used to have that never gave us any problems.

This forum is a small subset of Ford truck owners. It does generate much comment and a few unhappy customers. But most of us are able to live with the foibles of the new trucks. Just to have a new truck. I'm guilty. I just haven't been caught yet.
