Figured this was probably the right forum to post feedback on the FLATED Air-Topper in.

If you are looking for a removable cap for your truck go for it! Compared to the soft topper I had on my last truck, this thing is so much easier to install and remove and a heck of a lot more functional since I can strap a kayak on the top without issue. I like that I don't need to wrestle with all the metal rails and frames if/when I put this thing in storage.

The biggest reason I went with the Flated over others is we have 4 other short bed trucks in our family so I can pop this off my truck and throw it on my dad's Ram or my brothers Chevy in a few minutes. Probably wouldn't have gotten a cap if I was the only one who would be using it but between hunting, fishing, and boating season, it'll get used quite a bit.

Install took about 30 minutes with inflation. I thought the topper would look goofy on the truck (like a raft strapped to the bed) but it looks pretty sweet. I'm going to figure out a way to throw some strip LEDs in side as it gets pretty dark at night and the OEM bed lights suck but overall I really like how this cap turned out.

I was strongly considering this and you can tell its well built but man that price tag gave me heartburn. Good luck, looks awesome!

Yeah price is up there so here's how I justified it...

1. This is a universal cap for short bed trucks so like I mentioned in my post, anytime a family member needs it, they can use it which is awesome. Immediate family has 3 trucks so $1500/3, $500 per truck which is a lot cheaper than if we were buying model specific caps for those same trucks.
2. If/when I sell it, because this is super universal, my potential buyer pool is a lot bigger than if I were selling other a rail/frame style topper.
3. Explained to my wife that I will die if I don't get it for my truck...JK but having this extra space is super helpful heading up to our lake house and being able to take the cap off in 30 minutes to store it pretty much anywhere is a convenience I wanted.

I had been tempted to buy one of those as well, so I appreciate the positive review. My needs have changed somewhat since then, so I'm not really looking at it in the near future anymore, but it's good to know that this is a viable option should I decided to go in that direction in the future.

Random note but I know the guys who started this company - tons of experience in the whitewater industry (where the technology came from) and while a unique solution it 100% delivers on what they promise. Strongly considered getting one for my truck but ended up with the RSI Smartcap because I needed something more secure than the Flated top.

Great solution for what it is and supported by a good group of guys.

This is a spot on comment! Obviously if you need extra security, its not the right direction for you but for a quick and functional vertical storage adder, this thing is REALLY hard to beat.

Definitely unique and a conversation starter, got a few questions while out and about!
