FitcamX Recording Gaps

During a 9-1/2 hour trip my FitcamX had 9 gaps where it stopped recording for a total of 318 minutes (5hr 18min). See the attached pic for one example. I'm using FitcamX's OBD cable for power. I was powering it off the rearview mirror in my 2024 F150 with the same results. The SD card I'm using is a SanDisk 256GB Extreme microSDXC UHS-1 190MB/s. I like the looks of this dash cam, but this is unacceptable.

I had the same issues. Only thing that fixed it was a reset of the cam.

Simple as that? And its 100% reliable now? I was about to pull the trigger on another dash cam on Amazon taking advantage of Prime Days but if that all it takes Ill not spend the money.

It seemed to be. I haven’t had an issue since and it’s been maybe 4 months or so. However I would not be surprised if it happened again with something like that. It seemed to do it once it was closer to full (but not completely) even though I had the overwrite feature on.

Update: I just completed the same drive (9 hr 30 minutes) I run the FitcmX and my new VIOFO A229 side by side. The SD card in the VIOFO was smaller and only held approximately 7 hr and 30 minutes before it began overwriting the oldest files as it is designed to do. It did not miss a single minute of the drive. I am very happy with it. the FitcamX has a bigger SD card so there was no need to overwrite the older files. This time it had 15 gaps in the video with a total of 2 hours and 51 minutes lost. Before I started the trip, I did a factory reset as suggested and formatted the SD card. As you can see it did not help mine. FYI: the firmware had been updated after a lengthy battle with FitcamX. I really wanted the Fitcamx to work as I don't like the VIOFO stuck to the windshield. The FitcamX looks so much better but Its garbage and that where its headed.
