I’ve had mine about a month now, and yes I get the “clunk”.

Have you experienced the engine idling after a cold start and/or coming to a stop shortly thereafter? This is my biggest area of concern currently. Although others posted that this is normal.

Seems to happen following the previous trip and it’s wanting to charge the battery.

Think I solve it by letting it warm up longer but not confirmed.

What are you getting for MPG? I’m on my 3rd tank and have gotten 23.8, 25.4 and current tank is 26.1.
Still on the first tank. 175 miles in. 20.3 so far but it's been climbing ever since pick up.

I am, and it just idles at slightly higher RPM, but for less time. Nice for when I'm sitting in a parking lot or powering the travel trailer!
You don't use generator mode for the travel trailer?

Yeah, sorry if it wasn't clear! I meant idle in parking lots or (separately, in generator mode!) power my travel trailer. :ROFLMAO:

Maybe I’m still getting used to mine, haven’t even had it a week and driving minimally, but is yours kinda “jerky” when shifting from gas to electric? I’ve heard this gets better as it breaks in but it’s very noticeable at low speeds or coming off a complete stop.
I've had my 2021 PB since April of 2021. I now have a bit over 18k miles on it. The transmission generally got smoother as time went by. I understand that it goes through a process of learning your driving habits. I did have the somewhat common rough shifting issue in the lower gears (1-3), but when I took it in for one of the recall issues the dealer also addressed the shifting issue by reprogramming, the PCM module (I think) and now it's smooth. Mine shifts very smoothly from electric to ICE and back.

I've had mine since March 2021 and just went over 43K. Depending where I'm driving I'll get between 30-40 around town and about 21 or 22 on the highway if keeping it at or below 75 MPH. Really need to make sure you have TSB 2701 applied. That was a game changer for my transmission.

It's gotten much better the past few days. I'm sure it'll keep smoothing out, so far so good.

Who is using the Eco Idle option?
First, nice feedback. Glad to hear how you’re enjoying it. I’ve recently gotten mine and also noticed it does not seem to go EV as much as I expected, or recalled from one I test drove last year. The weekend I played with Eco mode around town curious to see if it would have more EV bias and/or see ICE cut-in come later of the line when soft pedaling it.
The first thing I noticed is I am becoming the Prius driver I use to curse about with distain 15 years ago due there inexplicable driving habits, which all of a sudden resonate with me.
Second, No appreciable change to ICE cut-in off the line. It did seem to delay the ICE on point with flat roads and light throttle. I saw 55 a couple times compared to the usual 40-45 threshold.
Lastly, and most significantly noticeable was the effect on transmission shift. They went from meeting quick and firm to very soft, to wear you almost didn’t notice them. I did not expect this. Mine unfortunately suffers a bit from the harsh lower gear shift that some have, so the reduced pressure softer character was night and day.

It's gotten much better the past few days. I'm sure it'll keep smoothing out, so far so good.
That’s great to hear. Certainly hope it ends up meeting your expectations. When was your truck built?
When I read your first post it sounds like my experience thus far. Mine may be more abrupt or harsh. Reminds me of a neutral drop / clutch pop. Interesting thing is its more of a light or trailing throttle event at < 5mph, making less sense. Taking off a bit on the heavy side it is pretty smooth.
My wife even asked me ‘what was that’ and if there was a problem from how violently the the ICE cut on was the couple times I hit the wind just right to get it to do that. Thankfully its not consistent. At the same time that could end up being a problem if it doesn’t just learn out as a dealer will give the ole ‘can’t reproduce, off you go’. Hasn’t changed or improved for me but it’s only been a couple hundred miles. So encouraging to hear yours improved and gives hope for the same luck.
For what it’s worth, I test drive two powerboosts last year at the dealer before ordering. Specifically to see how the ev / ice transition was. Both were seamless and impressive. That experience makes this a little disappointing, but for now I’ll focus on the specifics of the conditions when it occurs and making it reproduceable. I think it might be a case of the ICE coming in at the same time as a shift event and the two aren’t synchronized between throttle % and shift timing/pressure.

Wow! I'm driving gently almost always in eco and I get 21.7 city 21.3 highway. What a discrepancy! I just crossed 2000 miles.

What is TSB 2701? I searched the forum and google and didn't see anything definitive. I assume as the truck was built 6/22 all recall/tsp work was addressed

My bad. Not sure where that number came from. Should be 21-2407

I've done 2800 miles on mine and driving gently I'm getting about 28 in the city and 26 on the highway (on flat terrain, no headwind and not exceeding 70). I don't see a significant difference in Eco mode.

Sorry that was in Canadian gallons. In US gallons it's 23 and 21 respectively.
