Curious if anyone here was having issues with leaks etc when doing replacement. I brought mine in to get this done and they told me they only do the recall if it is currently having issues. Don’t really trust this dealer because I had a laundry list of other items to take care of (lane centering, trailer disconnect, broken cupholder) and they sat on it 10 days without looking at it before I gave up and picked the vehicle back up.

I still need to get the other work done (as well as the new insulation recall) so am wondering if I should bring this up again with the next one.

On a related note - if anyone has any recommendations for service centers in the Denver area it would be much appreciated. I was clearly not impressed by this most recent experience…

I just had the windshield recall done on mine. So far no issues, but I wouldn’t recommend the dealer who did it. Their customer service and lack of follow up on anything was terrible.

Were you having issues before they did it? My dealer said the recall is only done if you are having problems currently (leaking water wind noise etc) but I got the sense they maybe just didn’t want to deal with it, not that that that was the actual guidance.

No issues before. My Ford app was showing the recall. Ironically, a month later after the repair and they still haven’t cleared it off my app. I keep asking and they keep saying it will drop off. The last recall was off in 24 hrs so I’m a little skeptical with anything this dealer tells me.

Yeah - I think I'm going to try a different dealer next time. I would rather just get it repaired under the warranty if they will do it. Seems like there is no harm in having it reattached, and I have a suspicion some of my other issues might be tied to the camera calibration so I don't think it would hurt to have it recalibrated.

They replaced mine. The recalibration took longer than the new windshield.

My experience with windshield replacements has not been good. Digging out the sealant of the old windshield always damages the paint around the frame and then the rusting begins. I have even had the corrosion develop to the point the frame failed and the windshield fell in to the car.

The way the recall is stated it sounds like they just need adhesive to reseal. My dealer mumbled something about needing to recalibrate the rear view mirror.
Yes, any electronics like brake assist, etc. need recalibrated when windshield is removed.

Had to replace the windshield on my 19 Ranger. Recalibrating collision detect, brake, assist, whatever, took longer than replacing the windshield.

1. Aluminum?
2. Never had an issue replacing windshields. Hell, did 2 myself back in the back.
