Anyone else have issues with the APIM module? My 2022 STX just got diagnosed with APIM issues, but reading through older threads it doesn’t sound like this is a new thing. My screen randomly goes black, gets frozen on the startup logo, and has frozen on the reverse screen. Also last week the front left and front rear speakers went out. Turned the truck off and then back on and they started working again. Ford said they couldn’t find any speaker issues but could be related to APIM issue.

2021 XLT Screw 5.0,4x4,302Asport,
I've seen APIM mentioned but don't have any sense of what it does or controls.

I have had head unit freeze up stopping the GPS. Slow boot up by head unit. Buzzing or static sounds instead of carplay generated music which kills off the GPS. When the buzzing stops, the music returns.

Ideas?

Hey there! Could you please send over a private message with your VIN, the name/location of your local Ford dealer, and some more details on the issues you have been experiencing? I would like to look into your APIM concerns on my end.

I had very similar symptoms. Sounds like it could be the APIM. It’s covered under the 3/36 warranty and also the extended if you bought it. Mine should be replaced next week and hopefully that will fix the issues.

I just had the screen blacked out to me today. Mine is a 2022 F150 XLT sport package 3.5L ecoboost. Got an appointment with dealer this coming week. Only has 12K miles on it. Not looking good with this trucks anymore.

Pretty frustrating. The guy at the service counter said his did the same thing. The more I look into it, the more common it seems to be.

Just had my screen go black this morning. No warning signs, just went black. The touch screen part is working but just can't see anything. 2021 STX 2.7L 24,000 miles. Multiple issues with this truck over the last 1 year of ownership. For the amount of money spent on these trucks, this should not ever happen. Ridiculous! Now I will have to call and schedule an appt with the dealership, wait 3 weeks to get in spend more of my time dealing with this crap....... Not happy at all.....

Sounds similar to what happened to me. Mine was diagnosed with bad APIM module. I was told the part was 2 days out and that it would be fixed right away. Going on 2 weeks without hearing anything from Ford.

My APIM module just shot craps. 2021, 15,000 miles. Ford’s product development process needs a serious overhaul
