I’ve been looking at ESPs on Flood and apparently they don’t cover routine stuff like oil changes, etc.

Is that something you have to purchase through a separate policy (maybe through the dealer)? Or what?

What does everyone here usually do when it comes to routine service?

The ESP only covers issues that would normally be covered under the standard warranty times, just longer. You can purchase a maintenance plan if you would like through the dealer. I did this on a car a couple of years ago. My understanding was that you could only use it through the dealer you purchased the maintenance plan through, although this was an assumption because the dealers name was on the maintenance tickets. I prefer to just pay for maintenance. You get 42,000 Ford pass points when you purchase the vehicle which is good for 2-3 oil changes, depending on if you go standard oil or full synthetic

I believe that is covered under the maintenance plan not the ESP. I think you’re better off just paying for the routine maintenance yourself.

I found Zeigler Ford offers the ESP and Maintenance plan that seems to be very reasonable. Zeigler owns 30 dealerships in Michigan. My KR should be here Fri or Sat. I'll see what my dealer can do vs Zeigler. To be continued...

Just my 2 cents. You are paying more by buying those “maintenance plans” other wise there would be no incentive to sell them. If you’re looking to just not have to pull your wallet out when you go in for service that’s one thing but realize there is no deal there that I’ve ever been able to find. Now the ESP yes there is value in that especially for those of us with PB trucks. In fact I’m going into my dealer tomorrow for an oil change and he is letting me bring my own oil and filter and they are just charging me $25 for the labor. Since it’s winter I think that’s a good deal. I’ll go back to changing my own when it warms back up.
