Electric tail gate flopping down

My 2023 Powerboost tail gate suddenly started just flopping down whenever I pushed the release button and then had to push it up. It lost all power assistance. This repeatedly happened yesterday, but then this morning I go out and it’s working again properly both up and down! Anybody know what’s up with this? The only abnormality prior to this was the tailgate moved down with power assist but had to stop because it was hitting the jack on my trailer. But it just went back up. Otherwise I’ve never had any problems with it at all, and that, of course, wasn’t a problem but just the automatic safety. That abnormal drop of hitting the jack doesn’t seem like it should cause any problem, but I don’t know how these things work. Any ideas?

Okay, that’s probably what has happened although it was manual multiple times yesterday after that first occurrence. But that seems to be what happened. I’m relieved.
