I owned a 2021 F150 that came with the BoxLink cleats that lock to the BoxLink plates on the sides of the bed. They were made of all metal. I just purchased a set for my new 2025 F150 but the part that has the lock on it was made of plastic! šŸ™. The worst part is that the locks will rotate in the plastic housings so any key or screwdriver will unlock them. I wanted to be able to lock up an expensive e-mountain bike to them, but the current design makes them not secure enough to do that. I’m very disappointed.

I’d like to look at an aftermarket set but it’s hard to tell online which ones may have metal housings and which may be plastic. Can anyone advise if 1. The old Ford OEM part is still available? or 2. Which aftermarket sets are made completely of metal and will be higher security?

Thank you.

I got mine off of Amazon and they are composite and I’ve ratcheted the shit out of stuff in the back of mine and no problems. Lol

Ditto, Plastic cleats have been fine and I use them alot with no issues at all. I kept the 2025 plates just in case but I preffer the cleats. I had the 21 Lariat so I was able to compare ond contrast. Only took me one week to see that I missed the "old style" cleats so I orderd them from Amazon and couldn't be happier.
