It’s a minor annoyance, but I have noticed that the mirrors will extend out when I lower the tailgate. This happens with the remote or if I open it manually. I regularly get in/out of the bed with the truck still locked. Makes no sense that the mirrors would extend with the tailgate with the truck still locked.

i haven’t found a way to change that, curious if anyone else has.

mine does that also, when the tailgate is opened remotely the truck completely unlocks and the mirrors will unfold. I know you can change the mirrors so they do not fold in automatically when the truck is locked,. Still searching for any other settings...

I haven't found a setting to change that particular aspect of the auto fold/unfold mirrors, however if you press the button to fold the mirrors yourself they should stay folded until you press the button again. This should keep the mirrors folded when you lock/unlock the doors as well as open/close the tailgate. It's not perfect, but it's the work around that I've been using.

Hello, yes i just tried, I turned on the auto fold feature for the mirrors and fold them with the button inside when i left the truck and locked the door. I still can open the tailgate remotely and the mirrors do not fold open., but the doors still unlock. The only nice thing about the auto folding mirrors is when they are folded up you know the doors and taligate are locked

Yes, this is a great feature. What’s nice is that if you lock the truck and a door isn’t fully closed, the mirrors will stay out. A couple of times my kids haven’t shut the door all the way and I’ve noticed that because the mirrors stayed out when I locked the truck.

yes I like that feature also, but I might have to turn it off in the winter when every thing is covered in ice:cautious:

I will have to try that and look for the mirrors to fold out on mine.

Just FYI, I was having a little photo shoot with my truck the day I got it. I had the tailgate down with the work step deployed and the grab handle/post extended. I forgot I had the step out and went to hit the button on the fob to close the tailgate. The truck made a weird beeping noise (different than when normally opening and closing). I then saw it didn’t attempt to lift or close the tailgate.

I thought that was a nice safety feature! Otherwise that tailgate step might have gotten crushed or slammed into my brand new paint on my truck that was mere hours old!!
