While using the F150 Build and Price tool I entered the zip code for Dearborn, Michigan and the Destination Charges are the same as my zip in Florida. Wouldn't it be fair to have the Country setup in zones (distance from assembly plant) and adjust these charges accordingly? I'm old enough to remember when you could buy the vehicle for this amount. Wonder if we couldn't charge these manufacturers under the RICO Act?

I believe it is a law that it is the same all over the country. Even if you pick it up at the plant you still get charged.

The manufacturers charge all the dealerships the same destination fee regardless of distance to the factory so that dealerships closer to the factory don't have an unfair advantage.

It's not negotiable because it's a charge from the manufacturer. You can still negotiate the total sales price.

There are instances where prices are advertised without destination fees in order to make the price look better. This isn't the reason that it's listed separately on the sticker, but it does happen
