Has anyone else come across this? I currently have 2021 F150 Lariat 3.5 EB that has had a lot of issues and thinking about trading it in for a v8. I purchased back in March so had a bunch of rebates and will probably be able to make some money off of it if I do trade it in. Was looking at some dealers and came across these guys. They are charging $5000 "market adjustment." Why would anyone buy from them when other dealers even if a couple hundred miles away are not charging "market adjustment" and even giving trade in bonus?

This has been a huge conversation in the Mach-E market. I walked away from several of them because dealers would not remove the MVA. Just keep looking and you will find one at a dealership that doesn't want to play games.

If you have the option to go to another dealer than I would to save that much. They can charge what they want. You could also explain your situation and maybe they would ignore the adjustment. There aren't too many rebates or incentives out there right now.

If the dealers around me were doing that I'd just drive or fly out of the area to a better dealer once I found what I wanted online.

If I find a dealership that has what I am looking for according KBB (trade value) and the $2000 reward I got in the mail from Ford I would break even switching Trucks without any additional rebates.

Maybe the dealership I bought the original truck from knew about all the issues and why they gave me such a good deal.

I wouldn't think that would be the case, they like to have repeat customers and people recommending them. Sometimes it's just the luck of the draw, you can have issues with no matter what you purchase. Or never have any issues at all.

When I ordered a Raptor it was the same thing. It took about 5 calls to find a dealer that didn't have a "MVA" - worst part was most of them wouldn't even commit to what the MVA was going to be!!! $5-10K - just crazy. Stick it up your..........

I'm just south of you in Hugo, and bought mine from Granger in Iowa. It's about 3.5 hours straight down 35.

To give you an idea of the savings of going with them:
$73,295 - MSRP
$68,926 - Invoice
$66,323 - Granger price (Invoice minus dealer holdback)

Subtract rebates and incentives:
$4,100

And the total was:
$62,223

Plus $225 for doc fee and transit tag

All told that's $10,847 off MSRP or 14.8%.

That is very close to what I got off in March when I bought from North Country Ford in coon rapids. But would never recommend them because they have left me hanging with the issues I have had with my Truck had to create an escalation case with Ford and now working with a new Dealership.

Have you ever worked with Autonation in WBL? This is my first Ford and I haven't picked a dealer for service yet. Not sure who to start with. Would also consider Hudson too, I guess.

Ford is not the only manufacturer adding on this "market adjustment". Last month my wife and I purchased a new SUV for her, Hyundai and Honda are also adding this new cost to their sticker prices. I told them I will not pay that cost, and i said i will go else where to purchase a vehicle. We ended up getting a Mazda CX 5, since they were not charging for the market adjustment. I even made sure they didn't hide that cost in anything.

I guess it is there way to making up the loses due to the semiconductor shortage. Who knows, before long it will be another permanent price jacking up prices on vehicles even more. My platinum has finally shipped and should be at my dealer within the next 2 weeks and I will see if they try and add in such a cost.

Checked my dealership today, all F150's had a market adjustment of $3,000.00 over MSRP!
