Chip hold My22 & My23

Just made my weekly phone call to Ford so I can become more disillusioned and lied to. I got a different response today. Instead of the fantasy that my truck will be delivered on 02 Oct, the operator actually told me that I should be off chip hold between 26 Oct and 02 Oct and ready to ship. Closer to the TRUTH??? I then asked the operator if Ford gets feed back from them. He said no, We just tell our supervisor when they ask. Go figure, Contractors!

Hey "Official Ford Account" Minion. Do you work for Ford? Does Ford accually care less about its customers that we all think?

I've had my truck on order since April, its been built and waiting for a chip since august 17th.
I call once a month for an ETA regarding the build. So far the eta has jumped 3 times. The latest is Oct 17-23rd. I'm not holding my breath. If this drags out another month I'll just get my deposit back. I'll drop a coyote in an old F150 and mob that around.

The last representative I talked to sounded like she was running a day care facility. I could barely make out what was being said in-between children screaming.

That's totally not what I was expecting. My imagination had lead me down a path of something catastrophic like door panel falling off or like something ridiculous and instead its just a gas door opening. I need a life lol.

Pretty sure that's accurate. I believe I saw a youtube video about it. It's a fail safe in case there's no power for the electronic release.

Emergency fuel door release. I pulled it not knowing, and it got stuck between the bed and wheel liner, so the fuel door wouldn't stay closed. Kept getting a warning message on the cluster. I felt like a complete dumbass. I ended up pulling the liner back partially and tucking it up inside.

I just read that a guy in the 8/22 week is getting his truck (Congrats btw!). It seems like weeks all around 8/8 and 8/15 are seeing movement. As soon as I read that, the song with the chorus "Here I am, stuck in the middle with you" popped into my head......

So I decided to give the marketing line a call this morning and spoke to a lady named Kim. She informed me that I am still on chip hold (obviously) and that I had an ETA between 10.17 and 10.23. She told me that there is nothing she can really do until that ETA "expires". She told me to call back on the 23rd and they could "escalate" my order. Not sure what that means at all, but she did say I need to be sure to call on the 23rd (if I haven't seen any movement), because apparently if the truck is given a new ETA range, then they have no ability to escalate it. Not sure if escalating it will make anything happen but I'll give it a shot and keep you all updated.

When she looked up my order she seemed genuinely surprised that I had been in production going on 77 days (she could just be great at her job). She said it's common for people to be on chip hold for 30-45days but 70+ was inordinately long. I doubt I'll see any movement by the 23rd so I have just set a reminder in my calendar to give them a call again.

Called the Marketing line again this morning with the same estimation of Oct 23rd. I think I am about done with this and am going to start looking for alternatives. I think it is absolutely insane that we are being treated this way when trying to buy a $70-$80k vehicle. It will really be awesome to take ownership of a 22MY truck in 2023 with no additional discounts then my X plan price.

Your assumption is correct, they conveniently are closed Saturday.

I'm seriously starting to think that camping out in front of headquarters is a real possibility. Dearborn is 2 hours away for me. Someone standing out front with a sign "where's my truck" is a little harder to ignore.
