Ever since I added a 2.5in level to the front of my 2022 402a Tremor, I would receive a "Check Headlamp System" error message whenever the truck would squat under acceleration. Under forscan, I continued to have an HCM error code for the front left ride height sensor. I tried to run the HCM calibration in forscan multiple times but would fail unless I physically disconnected the sensor from the upper control arm and manipulated the arm where it "should be" with stock ride height. This would temporarily solve my issue but the warning message recently come back. While in for the wiper arm recall, I inquired if they could take a look at this issue. Since then, they have replaed the left ride height sensor, which has not fixed the issue. Now, they are wanting to replace the HCM. It seems like they are firing the "parts cannon" at this problem and was wanting a second opinion from the knowledgeable folks on this forum.
Should I let them go ahead and replace the HCM? So far, their troubleshooting has been done under warranty to no cost of my own which is appreciated. My fear is that the HCM will not fix the issue however.
I have done quite a few forscan enhancements including enabling glare free from the HCM. All forscan mods have been successful and the error message didn't show up until the leveling kit so I don't think it's a forscan related problem. Should I go ahead and restore my HCM backup to factory before bringing it in?
In my research of this issue on this forum, most had no issues after a level with their LED projector headlights. Those that did, mentioned they were able to adjust the bracket/sensor and the issue went away. From looking, it does not look like the sensor or bracket have any adjustability so not sure the method they used to get the sensor back in spec.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
