I could be wrong, but from everything that I’ve read, the oil change indicator is supposed to be “intelligent”, meaning it changes due to the driving conditions. If you’re towing or under heavy load, it reduces the oil life. If you are driving 70 mph on the interstate constantly without pulling a trailer or hauling a load, it extends the oil life. All of this to say that the oil change intervals aren’t a “set” amount of miles. It changes constantly depending on the driving conditions and environmental conditions.

Can't set a given mileage. This generation F150 is just like the last generation. The oil change length (miles or time) is variable. The algorithm uses time, distance, speed, towing, etc, to determine the life of the oil. Just follow the meter intervals.

Nope, just change every 4k or whatever interval you want. For me, I change every 5k, oil is cheap and engines aren't, so why drive to 8 or 10k or whenever the meter goes off.

I put 230k miles on my last vehicle changing the oil every 10k miles and the engine was still running strong. Unless you're off-roading, towing constantly, or living life ¼ mi at a time, there's no reason you can't follow the truck's recommended OCI.
