Can order additions be made?

I ordered a Velocity Blue Lariat with a 3.5L EB on 1/19/2021 with very few options. Shortly after submitting this order at the dealership I realized the Tow Technology Package wasn't added. I primarily want the 360º camera and this package makes more sense considering it's only about $50 more than the stand-alone 360º camera option.

I spoke with the dealer's Sales Manager who said I was already assigned a VIN and he is completely unable to make any changes and is physically locked out of any amendments. Is this accurate? Was anyone else able to add to their build without cancelling and submitting a new order (if that is possible)? I'd truly hate to miss out on adding what I want knowing the wait will be lengthy anyways.

You can make changes but it‘s basically a reorder because you go to the back of the production schedule line. I made a change in october and that happened to me early November and dealer explained this.

I appreciate the info! I’m not sure it’s worth resetting the clock for but if it could be done before it’s scheduled for build I’d certainly want them to add it on.
