On dirt roads the trucks suck up dust and bring it inside the bed. I installed a rubber tailgate gasket and this limits dust at this one spot but I still have it coming in from above the tailgate where the Snugtop shell does not effectively seal the rear window area.

I would be interested in how others may have dealt with this problem.

I don't see any replies. HAve you found an answer?

I read where one process (the one I'm following) is to:
- Remove the bed rails (I'm at this step and trying not to break any of the clips)
- Clean the bed rail base and then adhere HVAC tape to cover all the holes
- Apply Sikaflex 221 around the holes where the clips will enter and also probably around the entire rail edge
- Reinstall bed rail cap

I have also installed grommets in the bed side holes, black butyl tape around the bed floor edges, and a tailgate seal kit for my truck. Hopefully this will work. The bed rail caps are causing the most pain right now.

Let me know if you have any suggestions.

I added some of the leftover tailgate seal kit to the topper window at the tailgate. This has helped some but is certainly not perfect. The reason dust leaks into the bed is due to negative air pressure causing the dust to be effectively sucked inside.

The one fool-proof way to keep dust out is positive air pressure....pushing air into the bed and therefore pushing it out of the seals. This adds a whole other set of challenges/problems but that is the ideal solution.
