I am considering getting a brush guard. I’ve been looking at Ranch Hand’s model. Any other options I should consider?

Must accommodate front camera, ACC, & BC sensors. I think the other reputable brand I’m aware of is Westin but don’t know much about them.

I searched and was surprised to see not many threads on this. I do plan on adding a light bar or two on it.

I would love to find a small bullbar that worked with ACC and 360 camera but I haven’t come across anything. This full brush guard you linked is the closest thing

I have this one installed on my truck, but I’m not sure about the sensors though, since mine doesn’t have them on the front. I also didn’t want something too bulky. I think I got mine on americantrucks.com if I remember correctly. It was the first thing I put on my truck since my previous truck was totaled by Bambi

For actual protection of the body from brush the guards shown are marginal at best. If someone is planning on protecting from a collision with a cow or a deer it would behoove them to review the animal collision pictures that have been posted. The guards tend to protect the radiator but pitch the animal up and into the windshield. I care more about protecting myself and my passenger than protecting the radiator.

I’m well aware of internet pictures which can be found to support an argument on either side. Some people have more specific use cases for there trucks than others, and what needs protecting. If it’s a truck driven in suburbia then it’s not needed, but it works great for many different tasks on the farm. Somewhere you don’t spend much time ?

Are you saying that farm animals get hit by your truck? Maybe it is time to drive slower and avoid the problem. I have a neighbor with more than 1000 dairy cows and he would be quite angry if I drove into one of them.

Where I live the deer are out on the roads at night and I do not overdrive my headlights. I drive at a slow enough speed so that if I suddenly see a deer in my headlights I can brake and not hit it. It may mean it takes a few minutes more to get home but it is worth it to avoid a needless collision with wildlife.

Same, I haven’t seen anything else that come close. Heard good things about RH.

That does look good. I’m looking at a full size like the link I posted. That is probably the most bulkiest I’ll go on my front end. Guards with steel bumpers just look out of place and too bulky on F150’s, hence why I’m looking at the RH.

Like @Sneezy said, arguments can be made on both sides. I’ve seen a handful of deer/wild life accidents online and do not see smashed windshield frequently due to animal being pushed up from the guard. Most of the times, they get tumbled over in front of the truck, go under the truck, or get pushed to the side. A lot of owners have credited the brush guards have saved their truck from potential costly damages.

Obviously (knock on wood), I have no experience hitting one myself however I did once experience when my father hit a doe crossing the road in his F350 SuperDuty in CO and it only broke the grill and chipped the paint. If he had a brush guard, it would’ve been completely fine. Fortunately, he didn’t hit the doe that hard and it got up & ran away.

For me in AZ where I live, we do not see much deer/elk unless I go up northern parts of AZ so it’s not that much of a concern to me.
