Just curious, how accurate is the boost gauge? There are times when there is a delay from what I see on the gauge vs what I hear, and other times that I swear I can hear the turbos but the gauge doesn’t show anything.

The turbos are driven by the exhaust gas stream... until the exhaust stream gets stronger the boost side won't be increasing... So Turbo lag is real with little you can do... The designers, hopefully, designed in a way to minimize that... But it's never gone...

If you monitor boost from the ODB pid, it does seem to have a better refresh rate and so the lipsync seems more realistic. But I've never witnessed the dash gauge as being significantly laggy. Just not quite as quick as the pid.

Considering fueling and timing are running off the sensor, I hope it's very accurate. There could definitely be a delay, an intentional one even, on the cluster though.

Probably important to note that you are hearing the turbos suck air in, not the pressure they are making. The sounds of the air getting sucked in will be ahead of the air pressurizing on the other side of the impeller (turbo lag).

Also, there are times where the turbos are adding pressure to the system, but that pressure is not above atmospheric pressure. You would hear a bit of the suction noise, but the gauge would be showing still under vacuum (if the turbo had a vacuum part of the boost gauge). I would see this often in my MX6 GT; a little bit of turbo spool sound with it showing 5 in-hg or so. That car had a mechanical gauge with a super short run and optimized hose sizing, so delay was not an issue.
