Blue Cruise Not allowing hands free

Hey Jesse-infotainment. If you have time could you check my vin # 1FTFW1ED5NFB53178 for any updates and confirm Blue cruise maps are updated 10/12/2022 (Dec 10). Thank you for all your help.

Just went to check my truck which has never given any indication of updates in the past. Currently on sync build 21297 and expired maps. When I checked the first time it said the truck was up to date. Cycled everything by shutting the truck off, opening and closing the doors, hitting the lock on the remote and waiting for the dash to completely power down.

I did this cycle several times and checked updates each time. On the second try it went to a blank screen with a scroll bar on the right but the text was missing. 3rd time it showed pending 3.5.2 and I believe the language changed on the 4th cycle where it no longer mentioned "pending".

At least I now have confirmation that there is information being exchanged between Ford and my truck. I'll have to wait it out and see what happens. Neither Fordpass or my online Ford account show any information about an update and my maps still have the 10-9 expiration date, but at least it's doing something. Fingers crossed.

No probleem. All you need is a USB drive if I sen d you the files. Check with the deaelr see if they will do the gateway update if they give you a hard time I can send you the files. Takes 15 mins to install

Will you please look again to see if anything was changed at all, or my software/BC map situation still stands as yesterday preventing me from using the H-F BC. It would be helpful to decide what to do next.
If further changes are needed, going back to the dealer is not an option since it seems no one at the dealership (sales and service both) even knows or understands the existence of a Hands-free BC. They keep talking about the nagging kind and that's it. It is truly puzzling....

They did do the Gateway update. So give it some time. it seems the amount of time required for the maps to reinsstate has been taking a bit. To give it a few ignition cycles and youll be set to go. Side note looks like the RFa update came after the gateway update. That RFA update will enable the Phone as key

In-vehicle Sync4 now states that my Hands-Free Driving Mode available through 10-09-2022. Should that mean September 10 I suppose it will update to a valid date automatically along with the rest of everything after a number of ignition cycles, as you suggested, or by an OTA update perhaps?
Interestingly, in my Connected Services Ford BC shows active until 09/09/2025.

Yes you will have to deal with this every three months. They dont keep them active for the entire time in the truck.

Ford hopefully before december will have this under control for the 22s. The new dat is 10-12-22

If you have forscan you could force the gateway to reset and possibly expidite the update.

A guy I sent the update to told me today his finally updated the date. He installed the update Wednesday or so. As long as the gateway update was done you are good to go. I saw they did it. So hopefully overight will give the gateway enough time to reset and update the date.

The expiration date has changed to that exact date by this morning after quite a few ignition cycles last night. Hands-free BC is working now as it was supposed to from the get go.

Jesse can confirm whether the GWM listed IS the one for updating your maps subscription, but your truck has several updates available and the GWM listed below might actually be an update that precedes the latest update.

I don't know if Ford's OTA can preempt an older update with a newer one?

Yeah if that is the date showing its expired. Lie I have said that is meaning September 10 22

Youll need to update the Gateway. Snake has shown you have it available. I can send you the files to allow you to do it yourself or you can ask the dealer if you pleasure getting your nuts kicked in.

Just pop the USB stick in the front USB hub and turn the truck on.

Edit: So Jesse, is it possible that if a previous GWM update had not been applied that you would have to apply it first and then wait for FDRS to populate with the next/latest one before you could get the map update?

I don't keep a record of the various mouse-over Gxxxxx-x numbers associated with each update, so I don't ever know if what FDRS is making available is actually the latest.
