I just picked up my new 2025 SuperCrew Lariat PowerBoost but it didn't come with the bedlights. No big deal till I start in to add them and learn that Ford has changed the bed wiring and the blank plugs no longer come with the vehicle. Some bean counter saved 47c and my project becomes much more complex.

I'm not interested in buying an entirely new wiring harness for the bed. It appears the circuitry makes it as far as the large plug by the spare, but is deleted beyond that. Has anyone tackled adding in wiring for the switch and the bed lamps? I can add the components and wiring into the harness, but didn't want to go to that effort if there is something else that will keep it from being functional.

The alternative is to tap the exterior bedlight circuit and run a new lead back to the lamps, But it would be nice if I can modify the circuit to use what's there

Take a look at this thread:

Post #41 in this thread shows you which wires to tap. You can do this fairly cheaply if your willing to make your own harness. Post #34 in this thread has the parts list. You need some Posi-Taps to tap the factory wires, wire, tesa tape for your harness, the button (ebay), lights (ebay), the connector from the harness to the lights (order through Ford). I think all in I spent about $80 even after buying the Ford connectors at each light.

So it looks like if your fortunate like me and bought all the OEM crap to add simple bedlights, installed everything and did the necessary forscan changes only to realize you just wasted alot of money. If you dont have wires in Pin #28 and #31 of the C408 plug( truck side), you will have to pin them with the appropriate female connectors or tap the corresponding wires on the tailight side. Run wires to the passengers side kick panel, access the C2280E plug and pin location #8 and #9 so the BCM can trigger the switch. Since I asked this question a while ago and nobody really had an answer....here it is. I hope this helps someone else down the road. I'll be attempting this weekend
