I don't care if you think this is nit picky or not, but FYI, Ford started installing the CMHSL in all F series trucks and Bronco's in model year 1993. The body style changed in 1992, and the 1992 model year was the only year of that body that had only the bed light in that location, and it was the old style 1980 to 1991 (and 92) design. I know the bed light used to be an option, but it became standard in 1993 when they changed the entire housing to be both bed light and "third brake light" on the trucks. I honestly don't recall if the bed light was optional or standard in 1992, but I don't recall seeing a 1992 truck without one.Center High Mounted Stop Lamps
Center High Mounted Stop Lamps (CHMSL) have been standard equipment on all new passenger cars sold in the United States since model year 1986 and all new light trucks since model year 1994, as required by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108.
Ha! Take that confusing acronym!
I believe the same held true with Rangers/Explorers and E series van's as well but i'm not 100% sure on them. But definitely all F series and Bronco's
