Anyone waterproof the Ford trailer camera?

I'm curious if anyone has waterproofed their Ford trailer camera. While installing mine, I had to take the case apart to get at the locking screws for the mount that fell out of place. (I hear it happens alot) Anyway I wasn't impressed the seal of the case, so I am thinking I might do some preventative maintenance. I thought I might cover the case or at least the seals with with some heat shrink tape. Anyone else do this?

I've never 'split the case' but FWIW it's been ~2 years always parked outside in rain (and towed in rain of course) with no issues.

Whatever the OE seal arrangement it seems to be working for me.
