Currently have 22's for the summer with summer tires on them, and 17's for the winter with snow tires. I am debating just putting snow tires on the 22's since I will be changing wheels to something more aggressive for the summer, and am thinking of just running a set of snow tires on them. I thought I'd be ok with the 17" wheels for winter, but hate the look. Thoughts?

I plan on running snow on my stock 22s and getting a set of 22 rims for the summer tires. I havent done it yet because the stock tires have been pretty good. Plus I dont know what style and color rim would look good on the truck.

On my parents lincoln navigator we went with a set of reproduction 22inch expedition rims for the winter tires and kept the summer tires on the stick 22s.

Snow tires on the Navigator are continental VikingContact 7 in 285/45r22 its the factory size. The snows I am looking at for the f150 are Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5 SUV in 275/50r22 also the factory f150 22 inch size.

My current summer setup is using 285/45/22, so it sounds like either that or the 275/50/22 would be a good choice for size.

I’m running 305/45 22 Michelin Defender LTX M/S2s right now on Fuel wheels. They have done great so far. I debated tossing some winters on the factory wheels if these struggled. But so far so good!

I was thinking of going to a 305/45/22 for the summer setup. Figured for a winter setup a little narrower and taller wouldn't be a bad idea.

I've run 285/45r22 winters on both my F150 and Expedition for the past winters.
No issues.
285/45 is a fairly available size with lots of options.

After looking into it, yes, there's a ton of options in the 285/45/22 size compared to the 275/50/22. Looking at potentially the Continental VikingContact 7 in the 285/45/22. There are the Cooper Snow Claw for about 60 dollars a tire cheaper, but I have a feeling they probably aren't as good in the snow based on the tread design. The old standby Blizzak DMV2 is also available in the 285/45/22 for about the same price as the Continentals.

I've had such amazing luck over many years with Blizzaks that it's hard to go with anything else, but Continental makes amazing tires, and IMO the Continental DWS is the best all season tire made. Their performance tires are amazing as well. I might have to get the VikingContact 7's a try and see how I like them compared to Blizzaks.

Had a set of 285/45/22 Continental VikingContact7's installed at Discount Tire yesterday. They were a bit cheaper than the Blizzaks as well. Looking forward to putting them to the test!
