I have all the other parts in my cart, just wanting to confirm that rear harness. Ofcourse no info shows up about what my current harness supports or the possible harness reccomended.

If using my VIN it provides me 19 options to choose from. I am not able to verify specifically which one I have comparatively to which one I need. With Ford saying electronics are non refundable, I dont wanna make a $200 mistake. Anyone with a simular truck know for sure which harness to buy?

I can try the dealership but alot of times they dont know or play dumb because they dont wanna help you.

I will take some pictures of my setup with all of my lights plugged in later today and post them to this thread. I can relate to the fear of f’ing up because I was in the same situation. I started this project around the middle of August when I realized that I really wanted the bed lights that my 2022 had. I went back and forth between wiring into the existing harness and buying the replacement harness from Ford Parts. In the end I decided paying $200 for the replacement harness was a no brainer after paying $60K for the truck.

Hopefully my pictures will help you with your decision.

Just wanted to post my update as well. After a few of you guys mentioned the "P" harness having the grey connectors, I took the plunge and purchased it (on that note, if anyone is interested in a RL3Z-13A409-K harness that has the black connectors let me know). I received it last week and over the weekend got it all connected. I think the hardest part was unplugging the big connector. And like others suggested, removing the spare tire is helpful as you have a lot more room under there.

I made the following forscan changes that @GR8BBQ posted. Though I already had 726-79-02 set appropriately.

Here's the list of parts I used:
ItemPart #QuantityTotal Price
Switch AssemblySW77331$28.95
Wire Assembly Jumper RightML3Z14A411D1$23.21
Wire Assembly Jumper LeftML3Z14A411F1$24.90
Cargo LampJL3Z13A756A2$66.00
Wire AssemblyRL3Z-13A409-P1$161.59

Anyway just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here for the help and I'm glad it's finally working.
Was your original harness a RL3Z-13A409-A? Is that why you went to the P? Do you have the halogen taillights?

Hey @Jmwillets, no my harness was a RL3Z-13A409-H. My truck is a Lariat 502a which has LED tail lights. You would not want that. I think you want the E harness. But you'll want to double check that. If you look back post 58 in this thread (page 4) someone else had an XLT which has halogen lights and they used the E harness. I'll be honest with you I haven't really paid much attention along the way since it didn't apply to my truck. I'm fairly certain though if you read this entire thread you'll likely find someone who had the truck configuration as you.

Anyway, the reason I bought the P harness is because Ford gave me tail lights that are for bed scales. I'm guessing they did that because of parts shortages etc. Because of that I mistakenly bought the K harness which should have worked but because I didn't know any better at the time it didn't. And of course you can't return electrical related items so I'm stuck with it. I'll probably end up listing it in the classifieds. For users with the LED tail lights you'll want to double check the connector color, grey = bed scales tail lights and black = without bed scales.

Good Luck!

Well, today did not go as planned. I wasn’t able to complete the installation of my bed lights because the new harness I have doesn’t have the correct Inverter #. I was so happy when I removed the harness from the package and compared the tail light connectors to my existing and also checked to see if the switch would plug into the new harness- which it did and that the passenger side bed light would plug in- which it did. However, after removing the existing harness and comparing it to the new harness I had a problem. The plastic piece that has the connections for the Inverter on the drivers side of the truck was not the same.

The harness on the right is my existing and the one on the left is the new one. I was on Ford Parts and the one I ordered is a “Level #1 Inverter”. I don’t have a clue what “Level” my inverter is! I have the 2.4 Kilowatt plug in the bed of my truck- which “may be” a level #3 inverter. I saw some harnesses with Level #1, Level #3, and Level #4. Since the next Level of Pro Power is the 7.2 Kilowatt option I am guessing that is the Level #4 inverter. That being said- my guesses so far have led me down the wrong road. Tomorrow I will be going to the dealership to return the wrong part and to see if any of the service personnel can get me the right part. I wish I could find a 2025 XLT PB with a Bed Utility Package on a lot so I could get under the back end and see what harness is on the truck. So far no such luck. Here are some pictures of the (2) harness’s that don’t work:

Thank you. I will reread this thread. I think the E harness is also for LED and the guy with the XLT actually upgraded to the LED tails thats why he went with the E harness. I will find my needle in this haystack!!!

To determine if you need the RL3Z-13A409-E, compare your existing harness to these pictures:

@Golfdude1958, that helps tremendously! I can confirm my taillight plugs are identical. I will have to crawl under my truck again and check those other things. I called the Ford dealerships i purchased it at, the parts guy took the traditional parts guy attitude of I am bothering him, but he settled down eventually. He was who provided me the info I posted earlier but I had to extract that out of him. He said the only way to know for sure was for me to find a truck with the same trim as mine with bedlights....I thought perhaps there could be something that fits this bill on his lot, but he couldn't be troubled. None the less, your recent post is encouraging and I'm 95% ready to purchase the E harness. Once I aquire all the parts, I think the only hard part will be cutting the blanks out of the bed liner, then onto illuminated vanity mirrors, ambient lighting, rain sensor/auto wiper, heated steering wheel and whatever else I can waste money on my beloved basic bitch

Let me know what you run into with illuminated vanity mirrors. My wife gets all pissed off that I bought a truck for $60K and it doesn’t have lights for the mirrors. I told her that I would have had to spend $10K more for a Lariat that has fake leather seats to get the lights on the vanity mirrors.
I have also had issues with the parts counter at my dealership. First of all- I didn’t buy the truck from them. I think that’s part of the problem. The guy asked me where I bought the truck and I told him. I also told him that I had just put in all of their aluminum windows, doors, and hardware and the owner told me that he would take care of me when I was ready to retire and turn in the company truck- which he did. Anyway- I asked him if he could look up the parts that I needed and he said I could asked the dealer who sold me the truck to look up the number. Unfortunately, the dealer I bought the truck from is very small and in another town and they don’t show up as a dealer that I can pickup the parts from. Anyway, let me know if you need anything else. I have a lot more pictures if you need them.

I have purchased the parts from Ford and the wiring harness from Boosted GreyGoose. Do you have the glovebox light? The harness "Ts" off this. I will send you the P/N of the mirrors. I assume no sunroof? Do your current visors have homelink? That mirror is like $500 for black. The non homelink is like $180 and $130....for vanity lights. I am also adding homelink but not the visor method. Im mounting mine in the overhead console.

Just a quick update on what part # you need to add Bed Lights to a 2025 XLT PB with the 2.4 Kilowatt Pro Power. I found a truck on a local lot with the same trim and options as my truck and snapped a picture of the wiring harness tag:

Ford F-150 Anyone install 2024 OEM LED bed lights IMG_4212

I then drove to a different Ford Dealership that was where my online wrong part harness was shipped and luckily got a really nice Parts Manager who I showed the picture to and sorted through his online parts catalog to come up with the part I need- which is the RL3Z-13A409-F. I mentioned that the part I ordered had a tag on it that didn’t match the part # that I ordered. He told me that the tag part # was an “Engineering Part #” and was always different than the part you needed to order. Anyway- not sure if I am correct on this, but I have noticed a pattern of what part # you need to add bed lights on your truck and the Second letter of the 3 letters seems to correspond with the part # you need to order. The wrong part that I ordered was “BEF” and the part number was RL3Z-13A409-E:

not sure if this will help anyone, but hopefully so.

What was incorrect on the E harness? Did it have the duel taillight plugs?
