Just recently started this every time I shut the truck off. It doesn’t get much driving so I’ve driven it the last two days running errands. I was think the battery was low. But what concerns me is it telling to turn ignition off.

Your 12v battery is low thats why its giving you this message. Its nothing to worry about and is caused by short drives, not driving long enough, or could also be a bad battery. Because you don't drive your truck much it may be a good idea to go for a continuous 45 min to 1 hr drive once a week or get yourself a battery tender to keep the battery charged. If you go the battery tender route make sure you put the negitive lead from the tender to a body ground and not directly to the battery post.

I would replace your 12 V battery if you haven’t already. I would also recommend updating the title of this thread to explain what “this” is.

Agreed with splurging on a new battery and taking the truck on regular "long" drives. You should never let any vehicle sit for extended periods of time and then just do short jaunts. Bad for the battery, bad for the oil, fuel sitting in there too long, etc. Gotta drive these things.

You could also turn on heat/ac to a comfortable temp and turn fan up on high. This will make alternator run on short drives charging battery

Definitely try charging it up before deciding to buy a new battery. Your short driving habits will impact any battery. This one may not be bad just low.

I was having same problems and even had to jump my new truck to get it started. I finally went to Walmart and bought a new H8 and put it in. That was a year ago and I havnt had a single issue since. The truck sits in driveway two to three weeks without starting it and it fires right up.
So glad I put in the H8.

Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
Battery Tender. Schumacher or Daltran Battery Tender Plus. 1.25 to 2 amps should suffice. I have problems on all my cars (5) if I am not regularly driving them. Everything I read about Ford battery problems is likely the result of undercharging. I charge every two to three weeks or so if I am not driving them. Never had the first peep out of a 2021 Lariat battery

Were there any install problems on the H8 versus the H6?

I believe only a h7 fits the PB. You will also need a new battery blanket.

From everything I’ve seen posted the H8 can be fit into every model but the Powerboost because some of the hybrid components take up space right next to the battery tray. H7 comes standard in the Powerboost.

In my experience, the OEM batteries are faulty. When I had some weird readings on the road, I replaced it with a stock, off the shelf NAPA battery. Not a peep since across three Wyoming winters. So, just do it and get a non-Ford Battery. Also, I infer that getting a larger size battery makes no difference, the issue is get a non-Ford battery.

My truck is driven daily, after this last update I started getting a Ford Pass Message stating "Remove features disabled to preserve battery". I took the battery to get tested and It has 1,000 CCA on an 860 CCA battery.....

So it's "over spec"? That could also be causing issues if your system expects it to be in a certain set of parameters. Sort of goes back to the "Ford battery no bueno" post earlier in this thread, no?

Most batteries - if they are healthy are over spec on CCA if they are fully charged when tested. Pretty normal.
