This is a question for anyone who may have swapped out the side mirrors of the truck. For example if you got the original side mirrors and then added the tow mirrors or another brand.
Did the mirrors come with a plug in harness that you just disconnected from the truck and plug in the new mirrors. What I would like to do is tap into the wires that send power to the BLIS light in the mirror and add a BLIS notification in the cab. When BLIS lights up in the mirror, it also lights up my added light.
I'm thinking if the wiring is a "plug in" it would be easier to make an adapter with a tap in to that BLIS wire and that would let me add an LED light to also light up when the mirror BLIS is activated.
Although the BLIS works great I just find it lacking in the sole method of determining if it is activated. I find it hard to see in the sunlight and have to focus my attention on the mirror to see if it is activated. Ford should have added a switchable auditable warning if you turn on your directional when BLIS is activated.
