I have seen several ask if the workstation could be just replace the top of the center console.

I found this and don't know much about it but thought it might help some that are looking to do this. Not sure if they are interchangeable.

Anyway it has some part numbers, I doubt they will be available any time soon but should be at a later date.

Good to know, I ordered mine without that option because I thought it was all part of the fold down shifter. Wanted to avoid failure of a gimmicky additional part.

now realizing they all have that ‘feature’ standard.

If you type 1506024 you'll see not just the hinges, but the Centre Armrest Cover And Pad parts as well. It'll definitely be something you can add later.

What you posted here is just part of the story, looks like there will be a lot of pieces involved in a swap over.

The reason I ask is what I see in you signature.

Are any of those parts listed the same as what is on the trucks without the workstation?

If you could tally a total listing of parts with the cost, what would be required for the workstation conversion and list it as a package, I bet there would be several that want to place an order with you to complete this on their trucks. As long as it's cost effective I guess.

I know there were many that dropped that option because it was holding up their truck build. Also many purchased trucks on the lots that really wanted that option but could not find it.

I would think a Ford parts dept that put a kit together of all the parts needed and sold as a package could sell a lot of those kits!

Just a thought...

Wow, you wouldn’t think it would take that much, but I guess it makes sense. You’ll have to change out the top pad, brackets, rear cup holder area and more to accommodate the new piece.

Wouldn't take much to get the numbers together. My only worry would be availability. If the assembly line cant get the parts, the dealers definitely don't rank that high.

I will work on this in my free time today and tomorrow morning, see what I can put together.

Makes sense, they do at least seem to be showing up in production now.

Dealer had to replace all 4 of my wheels due to a bad employee doing my tire swap, he gauged all 4 wheels. They ordered the wheels and I thought it would be months, was shocked when they showed up in a week. It being a new wheel design I thought for sure parts would be back ordered.

Who knows

If you are able to work something like this, I will make sure it is well known in several places for those wanting to do the conversion.

Thanks for effort!

Alright, I've got an update. As much as I would love to be the "work station guy" I just don't think we can make it work. There are options based on trim level and interior color. I put together an example listing, based on a Limited with black interior. Cost + 20%, which is well below MSRP, is $800 and that's not including hardware, that's just major components.

On top of all these excuses, nothing is available yet looks like maybe 3-4 weeks lead time.
I'll keep up on availability and update this thread in the future. Anyone that is still interested after knowing pricing, we can PM and figure out the details at a later date.

Like I said, this is based off a limited trim, with black interior. But here is an example.
