Has anyone removed the active air dam from their truck? I have a 2024 with the 2.7l and it seems that at highway speeds (above 60 mph) I can feel the wind under the floorboard, sometimes more than others. It doesn’t seem to be the wheel unbalanced or anything else because I feel it more on windy days and on wide open roads with a decent amount of wind. If I go these speeds on non-highways with trees blocking the wind, it seems fine.

wondering if changing the direction the wind is forced under the truck will help- or make it worse by removing the active air dam…

I removed mine about 3 months ago, because I hit a 18whl tire scrap on the hwy... I didnt see any reason in replacing it. I have not noticed any driving issues and I still get good gas mileage. Average of 21.7 over 90k miles 2024 5.0
Hope that helps

A nice write up linked below on how to remove it. I haven’t taken mine off yet because up until recently I (embarrassingly) had no idea this was standard equipment. I was underneath looking for the source of a thunking sound when going over the culvert at the end of my driveway when I realized that I have one of these air deflectors, which brought me to the below thread on how to remove it.

I removed mine and trimmed up the fixed airdam (got the idea from a post on here). I think the trimming makes the truck look better.

Any increase or decrease to wind vibrations on the highway?

I’ve noticed some as well with mine removed. I also removed the rubber portion of the fixed dam. I haven’t trimmed mine down using the 1” tape method yet.

No regrets removing mine. I would have already trashed it if it was on there. I’m in the Austin tx area and we have toll roads with 80-85mph speed limits. Lots of debris and tires I’m always having to straddle stuff.

Some on the forum have said their trucks are throwing codes when they removed the active dam, but mine never did on my ‘21. I leveled, put bigger tires, and a tremor plate on around the same time, so I did lose some mpg, but I'm not sure if that was from the active dam or the other mods.
