I've learned since using this there is a better, less expensive way. Order connector 6U2Z-14S411-JB and connector to your existing 54pin APIM connector. APIM connector pin 1 is 12 volts positive, pin 37 is the ground.

APIM pin 1 to display connector pin 1
APIM pin 37 to display connector pin 4

I would actually start with a profile load using Forscan from an XLT with the 12" screen. Then change or remove the items that apply to the XL stuff like the backup camera. I've attached the profile that is working very well on my XL.
How I can load the profile to my Fordscan? I can’t see it in Fordscan when trying to load it.

The APIM asbuilt has to be loaded first. then at the bottom you will see the option to load the file from disk.

Hey that's a great way to do it. Did you have to buy special pins to connect to the APIM or do the wires just push in (i'm thinking kind of like an old stereo connection, might be dating myself lol)

Could you just ground it to bolt grounded behind screen? Or does it need to be grounded to pin 37?

it would probably be cleaner at pin 37 but a ground is a ground.

I see lots of different reply and comments about the parts you need to do a Standard XL to the 12 inch Screen. Would some Kind Soul, be willing to give me the list of parts and where to get them from?

Completed this upgrade, but radio control module is inop, it has 12v. I can control volume and skip songs via steering wheel, but the radio control module (knobs) has no illumination or functionality. I've reseatted the connections countless times and replaced the radio control module, still inop. Can't find anything related specific though forscan; apim or acm. All fuses are ok. Any other suggestions?
