Just ordered the Sounds Good Stealth Plus kit to upgrade my B&O 8 speaker setup.

I might end up upgrading to their full system later on, but I’d like to upgrade the door speakers and possibly the tweeters/center channel. I’ve also read that deleting the stock center channel speaker can help too.

If anyone has suggestions for speaker upgrades that have worked well, when powered from the OEM setup, I’d love to hear about it. Otherwise I’ll just leave everything stock except the sub and hope for the best since I’ll do the sound deadening and block off plates when I install the stealth kit.

High DB rating is what I’ll be looking for after reading through some threads on here. Suggestions?

I upgraded to the Alpine type R speakers (old model). I just replaced all door speakers and significantly upgraded the quality without touching the amp.

Upgraded quality, but did you notice an increase in volume?

My stock 8 speaker B&O needs to be around 22-24 to feel like I’m hearing decently. My son and I had the windows down on a back road the other day and we had the volume maxed at 30 and we both looked at each other and just kind of laughed at how weak it sounded.

I’d say a minor increase in volume nothing that’s going to blow your doors off. Definitely need an amp/full system to get your desired result but can always start with the speakers and do the amp later if you’re not happy with it. I’ve noticed that the CarPlay/bluetooth volume will be limited by an iPhone vs siris radio. You have to adjust your phone settings

I definitely need to figure out the best phone settings since sat radio and Bluetooth sound better than CarPlay. I don’t need a ton of extra volume……it’s just that the bass is lacking so much that even my VW GTI with a base stereo (four 6.5” speakers) absolutely kicked the B&O’s ass all around……which kind of blew me away.
