It is an actual tag with a perforated section for tearing off.... both sections containing the identifying information (4 digit alpha-numeric code) of the PCM (powertrain control module) that gets installed in the vehicle. Very important part from what I understand. So what is a tear tag?
Does it indicate the build is complete once it’s issued? It is an actual tag with a perforated section for tearing off.... both sections containing the identifying information (4 digit alpha-numeric code) of the PCM (powertrain control module) that gets installed in the vehicle. I don't know about that; but don't think so, not necessarily. Without it not complete for sure. Seems it populates AFTER the other modules populate though and when other modules populate they might be missing some important ones (like 720s) without which the build cannot be considered complete ( chip hold? ).Does it indicate the build is complete once it’s issued?
Speaking of FORD CAN YOU HEAR ME?I don't know about that; but don't think so, not necessarily. Without it not complete for sure. My vehicle was supposedly produced (aka Built so I've been told) 8/12/22. I've been repeatedly told in chat and verbally that it is built and shows no exception notes - "no holds". Never told no "chip hold" though; just that vehicle visibility report doesn't indicate any hold. Still IN PRODUCTION status... so what is the HOLD up?
my guess (wishful yet unsatisfying thinking) is that my truck is waiting for others going in the same direction to fill up a car carrying transport. That could take weeks or month or more - and that just is not right!
FORD! Can you hear me?!
It took them 2 weeks after my blend date for them to finally say chip hold but knew it because of modules.Truck still sitting at the rail yard in Flat Rock. I read in a few places that this is also where they store vehicles that are missing chips. My modules list does appear to be missing some things.
I just chatted with Ford on chat and they said my truck is not on chip hold.
I'm expecting something like that to happen. No idea why they can't just tell the truth. At least I've only been waiting since May. Some people have been waiting much longer. It took them 2 weeks after my blend date for them to finally say chip hold but knew it because of modules.
My last update was an email from the dealer last Friday that the truck was in transit with an ETA of second to third week of September. Both ford and ordertrack still show as in production.Anyone have any updates or have taken delivery (albeit those folks are likely not watching the thread anymore!)
ikeep telling myself to have patience, but it’s especially hard knowing I could get a call from the dealership any day, but look at the tracker to see it saying In Production for over two weeks.
