3" Exhaust Tip - I.D v. O.D.

Got the Flowmaster Black Exhaust tip, for a 3" Exhaust pipe. The Pipe on my 2021 Lariat Powerboost measures 3" on the I.D. and 3 1/8" on the O.D. This is exactly the same on the Flowmaster Tip. Meaning this creates the perfect butt joint, not a slip joint. Am I just being an idiot here - or what. What am I missing ...

Not being an idiot 3 1/8" is very odd. Must be metric exhaust tubing 80mm would be 3.149" od. A 3" exhaust tip is made for 3" is exhaust which is typically 3" od

Should mention - this is Item # 15398B from AmericanTrucks. The website and online chat all confirm, "Will fit 2021 F150."

I have the sane issue with my 3.5 and mine is not a powerboost. Do you guys have clamp on/bolt on tips for this? Are all the 2021 F150 tailpipes bigger than 2020?

I had that exhaust tip, didnt fit, so sent back myself...still looking for one that fits.
