275/60R20 to 285/65R20 Tire Experience

I had the factory size 275/60R20 BFG KO2s on my truck, upgraded to 285/65R20 BFG KO3s
Front is lifted 1.5" on Bilstien 5110s
Rear is lowered 1.5" from removing spacer blocks.
3.55 gears, max tow package, 3.5 EB engine

275/60R20 BFG KO2 Load Range D ~58lbs > Averaged 18mpg > All Highway 21.6 mpg

285/65R20 BFG KO3 Load Range E ~65lbs > Averaged 17mpg > All Highway 19.6 mpg

Love how the truck looks with the bigger tires, but you can definitely tell they have changed the driving characteristics, almost like the truck feels heavier. Slower acceleration, which is quite minimal, but I still feel like I can tell. Only been a couple of days, but seems like I'm going to lose 2mpg.

Looks good but changing tire sizes will usually cost you in mpgs.
I was thinking of going to a 275/70/20 but haven’t seen any examples.

I work in the tire world. that tire size doesnt exist.

we got the same truck (3.5EB, 3.55 max tow, 4x4) and with me currently running Toyo Open Country AT3 295/60/20 E's i'm getting between 15.2-17.8...i run 93OCT and i'm tuned BUT i'm not always pedal to the metal. i still drive normal. Oh, and i've done the tremor skid plate which when i did, i didnt notice much of a difference when i did that. i would say i do 30% hwy driving on a tank. The 17.8 was probably hwy lol

Are your wheels factory offset +44? or something else?
I know there are a lot of people who say you can, but for me the 295 looked like it might be a bit too wide to run on the factory wheels..
