I'm having a hard time looking for picture examples of how the lower windshield cowls (far left/right) soft rubberish flexible ends go from factory installation. I remember I tucked mine under where the top front fender rises but doesn't look "right", since the passanger side seems a tiny bit warped.

When I got the truck they were not tucked and looked even more odd, sort of "flappy".

Does anyone have a good picture of this area so I can compare if they're supposed to be tucked under the fender or should they be pulled out and sort of "rest" on the top of the fender?

Thanks, fellas...

EDIT: I found this elsewhere on here by searching on Google some more (fewer words, go figure): https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/would-you-get-these-replaced-by-warranty.19070/post-370895

Sample pic (not mine):

I had this problem when the truck was new. Service dept replaced it under warranty. I monitor and adjust it as needed when washing the truck. But, so far the new cowl hasn't t lifted up like the original. The edge of the cowl in that region of the windshield just occasionally seems to slide a little out from underneath the lip so I just tuck it back underneath.

Mine does the above. I can press it in and it comes back out soon after. Of all the ones I've seen in parking lots they all do this.
So it IS supposed to be tucked under the fender sides, from the factory, got it!

Being a Canadian-built market truck I'm beginning to think the harsher winter might have caused them to lift out then, either by prev. owner by removing/clearing snow off or just pure crappy manufacturing standards OR a combination of both! :inspect:

This was two weeks after purchase back in 2021

I see!!!!

Guess I wasn't going crazy when I shoved them back down into those fender wedge areas.

Damn you FORD, with your oddity of faulty manufacturing processes.

I'm in FL and it is summer hell year round, so I'd lean towards Ford quality being the issue.

It seems to be factory design flaw as mine and others have acted this way since new. The environmental conditions (contraction from weather conditions- cold/hot/icy...) and/or the movement/flex of the truck while driving causes it to lift.

If you look on top of the roof back toward the rear glass, you may also find that the rubber seals (driver and passenger side) in the drain channels are lifting or bent up (not flush to the roof). This is another common quality control problem from the factory. Service department said this was normal and I could see the seals lifted on other new trucks in the dealer's lot. ?

Guessing FORD just said, "Send It!"

Reminds me of the hub actuators, HVAC blender doors, and the infamous rear win DEF. (aka. Kab0om!) common issues from 2010 - 2016.

I had this problem - was pushing it down for a while but figured there must be something wrong.

Take a look at the tab on the edge nearest the windshield. Mine wasn't tucked in properly and forced the mid-section to bulge up. Hasn't reoccurred since.
