Hi all, I've been having a problem with my truck for a year now - it's driving me crazy.

When I go over large bumps or continued road imperfections, it sounds/feels like my seat is moving up and down slightly. This is accompanied by a "click" noise. I can reproduce it by pushing on the seat bottom - it almost looks like it could be the inner portion of the seat track contacting the bottom portion of the seat rail, or it's something in the internal structure. Has anyone had this issue / solved this problem?

I've already taken it to Ford 2-3 times - they claim it's normal operation and don't want to do anything about it. I even had to do the lateral seat pan looseness TSB myself (18-2361) - it was an approved fix on 21-22 F150s, but not the '23, so again they refused. It's just driving me nuts that a 70k truck clicks constantly every time I drive it down my block.

Thanks!

For reference, sounds like it's coming from this area, specifically where that screw is sticking out. Not sure if it's supposed to be like that or not.

My 2023 Lariat is an Australian spec, but my passenger seat (your driver seat) does the same thing. Hitting bumpy roads or potholes makes the seat shake and click. If you find a solution, do let me know, I’m waiting on the weather to clear up before I tear mine out to take a deeper dive, but weather here is forecast to be torrential for another week at least.

Same thing for one of the 2023 Lariat Powerboost trucks in my fleet, Dealer fixed it though, I attached the Warranty claim for your review.

(2023 Platinum). The driver's seat has a slight clicking movement with some side-to-side play, especially noticeable when going around corners. The dealer diagnosed it under warranty as a bushing issue in the seat frame shaft. Tomorrow I’m taking it to an authorized dealer to have the entire seat frame replaced under warranty. I’ll update here afterward to let you know how it goes.

Any update? Would be great to know if you were able to get it fixed!

This is incredibly helpful, thank you so much! Going to bring this with me to my local dealer.

I was away on a trip, but just wanted to update — it worked! Replacing the driver's seat base frame under warranty fixed the issue. The entire lower structure of the seat was replaced (the factory kit came with the electric actuator motors already installed).

I didn’t get a photo of the part (sorry!), but the actual issue was just a small amount of play in the bushing on the seat shaft. That tiny bit of looseness was enough to cause a clicking sound or slight movement during turns. Unfortunately, they don’t replace just the bushing, so the whole lower frame had to be swapped out.

Awesome, glad to hear! I've got an appointment in June with my local dealer. I'll be letting them know that this was the issue for other folks as well.
